Si is best known for being one half of celebrity chef duo Hairy Bikers, with the late David Myers – and appeared on various TV shows together.

David passed away in February this year aged 66, after being diagnosed with cancer in 2022.

Now Si has joined the This Morning team as one of their celebrity chefs.

The TV presenter – who appeared on the ITV show alongside David a number of times – joined Cat and Dermot to show them how to cook a beef curry hot pot.

But before getting stuck in, Dermot said: “We’ve got some very exciting news…

“You’re joining us as a regular chef. You’re coming into the family!”

Si replied: “I’m really looking forward to it actually.

“It’ll be fun, I get to see you guys!”

Hairy Biker Si King puts on a brave face as he makes first solo appearance since co-star Dave Myers’ death
“It’s really lush,” Si replied.

“Thank you for the invitation. It’s fab. It’s fab.”

Cat said: “Are you kidding?! It’s a pleasure.”

Back in October it was revealed that a moving documentary will celebrate Dave, months after his sad death.

Biking and cooking partner Si will pay tribute to him in BBC doc Hairy Bikers: You’ll Never Ride Alone.

Dave’s sad death in February left Si and the pair’s fans devastated, with a huge outpouring of support from fans of the Hairy Bikers.

Fans organised a charity motorcycle ride in August from London to Barrow-in-Furness, Dave’s hometown, to celebrate Dave’s life.

The fundraising totalled £127,000 for the NSPCC and the Institute of Cancer Research.

The show will air during this Christmas period.

Back in June Si confirmed that the Hairy Bikers brand was over.

Now he has admitted it would not be “respectful” if her were to continue as the Hairy Bikers on his own following Dave’s untimely passing.

Speaking to The Guardian, Si, 57, said of his next career move: “It can’t be the Hairy Bikers 2.0.

“That’s not going to happen. It wouldn’t be respectful.”

Si and Dave worked together in the industry for over 30 years.

His co-star  announced the tragic news in a statement on X.

Si said: “Hi everyone, I’m afraid I bear some sad news.

“Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years.

“Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home.

“All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own.

“Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can’t follow.

“I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime.

“I wish you god’s speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this world. See you on the other side. Love ya.”
