This Morning viewers claimed they had to switch off the show after a grisly doctor segment left them feeling ‘sick’ and ‘put them off their lunch’.

During Wednesday’s instalment of the ITV daytime programme, hosts Cat Deeley, 47, and Ben Shephard, 49, returned to our screens and were joined by Marianne, a podiatrist ready to dispense advice for foot-related issues.

The duo are back on our screens presenting their usual Monday to Thursday slot, while Alison and Dermot will be back hosting the show on Fridays.

Ben first kicked off the segment by thanking the medical specialist for coming on the show.

He said: ‘Thank you for coming in. We’ve already been asking you for information because we have a number of issues between us and our families but who are you looking to help today?’

To which Marianne disclosed: ‘Well I’m looking to help people with nail conditions, foot pain and lumps and bumps under the feet.’

She dived into answering calls from viewers seeking advice, however, shortly after the segment began, images of people’s feet were displayed on screen.

Less than impressed viewers at home then flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to blast the show for ‘putting them off lunch’.

One viewer wrote: ‘Great….just as I’m working up an appetite for lunch. #ThisMorning.’; ‘Well I was just about to have my lunch. Thanks @ITV #thismorning.’

‘Get them crusty nails off my TV. I’m going to be sick#thismorning.’; ‘I’m off! ! I can’t watch peoples dirty feet #thismorning.’

It comes after Ben and Cat returned to This Morning on Monday following an extended summer break – but fans were divided about Ben’s new look.

While making his comeback to our screens, the star debuted some new facial hair, which some viewers brutally claimed made him look ’10 years older’.

Ben himself tweeted a selfie with co-star Cat as they geared up to front the morning show, writing: ‘Morning all – back to school and so far still smiling!! and I really looking forward to seeing you 10am hope you can join us!’

Meanwhile, viewers took to X to share their opinions on his new beard, quipping: ‘Ben’s beard def a no no #thismorning.’
