September’s set to be wild for combat sports fans with two huge events dropping on Mexican Independence Day, September 14. Dana White’s UFC 306, teaming up with Riyadh Season, is ready to steal the spotlight from Canelo Alvarez’s boxing event, promising bigger views and PPV sales. Turki Alalsikh even said they’ll crush Canelo’s numbers. And now, the Mexican monster has finally dropped his thoughts on the UFC beef, and things are getting spicy.

Canelo recently joined Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo on the Pound for Pound podcast on YouTube, just three weeks before his title fight against the undefeated WBA champion Edgar Berlanga. When Usman brought up the topic of the event clash, Canelo responded, “I feel great, the competition is good. And I think the song come for everybody. I like the competition and I think it’s good for everybody. I don’t care if the UFC is there, when Canelo fights, it’s different.”

The Mexican fighter also highlighted that Mexican Independence Day holds great significance for him, and he feels a strong obligation to perform for his Mexican fans. However, fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the pay-per-view price for Canelo vs. Berlanga. Ultimately, time will tell which event will outperform the other.

Is Canelo’s PPV Price Higher Than Dana White’s UFC 306?

Fans are unhappy with the $89.99 pay-per-view price for Canelo’s event, considering it to be quite high. Meanwhile, the PPV price for UFC 306 hasn’t been revealed yet, but with the average UFC PPV costing $79.99, fans are expecting a similar price.

The UFC event will be available on ESPN+, with Sean O’Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili as the headliner, while Canelo’s fight will be broadcast on DAZN. These two major events are shaping up to be some of the most epic in combat sports history, and fans are eagerly awaiting both clashes.
