SAD NEWS: Ruth Langsford updates news about her son running away from home when he saw the disg^sting s.3.x cl!p of Eamonn with his lover Katie: ‘My heart t0re apart when he told me why gave birth to him and let him have such a father?’

Ruth Langsford revealed she “felt like her heart had been ripped out” when her son left home before her split with Eamonn Holmes was announced.

The Loose Women star shares 22-year-old son Jack with Eamonn.

He is the only child of the former couple, while Eamonn has three older kids from previous marriage to first wife Gabrielle Holmes.

It’s since emerged that Ruth and Eamonn, both 64, may have been leading separate lives for as long as two years before they publicly announced their split over the weekend.

A joint statement released by their reps said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

Eamonn is now thought to have moved out of the £3.2 million home him and Ruth own in Weybridge, Surrey.

Though the pair are said to be “determined to stay friends and keep things amicable” for the sake of their son.

Weeks before their split was made public, Ruth confessed she was finding things hard at home since Jack had moved out after finishing university.

She told HELLO! magazine’s In A Good Place podcast in December: “I would say that first week of not having him at home literally felt like part of my heart had been ripped out. I kept his bedroom door shut. I remember coming home and going into his bedroom and crying.”

She went on to detail other family struggles, such as her mother’s dementia diagnosis just a few years after her father Dennis died in 2012 following a battle with Alzheimer’s. Her sister Julia tragically took her own life aged 62 in 2019 after years of suffering from depression. And husband Eamonn’s health troubles have been cited as a reason for their shock split as it’s been reported Ruth became “more carer than wife” recently.

The GB News presenter has faced serious health concerns in recent years. As well as having both hips replaced, he’s suffered from slipped discs and chronic plain which led him to have spinal surgery in 2022. Though the treatment “went well”, he now has an issue in his left leg which could collapse at any moment. Ten days after his op he fell down 18 stairs at home and got more injuries. Since then he has often been seen using a stick or a wheelchair to get around.

Ruth admitted Eamonn’s injuries had been “testing” on their marriage and told Woman’s Weekly magazine: “I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve. We live in hope.” But it’s been claimed his health issues caused him to become “more and more grumpy” and in the end Ruth couldn’t put up with it anymore. Though Eamonn reportedly “tried for months to save the marriage”, the split is said to have been “very much been orchestrated by Ruth”. The Mirror has approached reps for Eamonn and Ruth for further comment.
