ITV’s Parents Evening viewers branded Alison Hammond ‘savage’ for her ruthless comments she made to son Aidan during Saturday’s show.

The This Morning star, 49, and Aidan, 19, teamed up for the new series, hosted by Romesh Ranganathan, where they had to guess how many questions the other could answer correctly, giving viewers insights into celebrity parental relationships.

However Alison seemingly lacked faith in her offspring’s knowledge and while some at home slammed the broadcaster, others were left in hysterics.

Taking to X some fumed: ‘C’mon Alison give Aidan a chance poor lad’: ‘For f**** sake Alison, poor lad’: ‘Alison Hammond really should place more confidence in her son’s abilities’.

While others saw the funny side : ‘Alison Hammond basically saying her son doesn’t know any of the answers has me cackling’: ‘Haha brilliant isn’t she, very good watching her with her son you see how good her bond is’: ‘Alison Hammond is savage’.

It comes after the Bake Off host revealed that her son was great at giving relationship advice about her Russian lover, 26, but admits she overshares.

Alison made a rare comment about her love life after her her romance with her toyboy boyfriend David Putman, 26, was revealed earlier this year.

In the teaser clip for the ITV show the pair were asked certain questions and had to vote who was better at each topic, with one question being: ‘Who’s better at giving advice?’

Aidan believed he was better at advice which shocked Alison at first before she then partly agreed saying: ‘When it comes to relationship advice you’re very good!’

But she added: ‘But when it comes to career advice I’m not sure!’

They were then asked who was the biggest oversharer and both voted for Alison – with Alison admitting: ‘Yeah maybe I overshare a little bit. I’ll probably overshare in the show!’

Back in June Alison and her toyboy boyfriend David made their red carpet debut alongside her son Aidan at a bash in London.

It emerged in May that the presenter was dating the Russian masseur despite their 23-year age gap.

It came just after Alison spoke out about their relationship for the first time and confirmed it even had Aidan’s seal of approval.

Speaking about the relationship on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s podcast Parenting Hell, the comedians grilled the TV star as they asked: ‘Are you single Alison?’

Acting coy, Alison said: ‘No… I’m not single.. I’m dating. I’m dating.’

Alison was also asked about the complexities of dating now her son is almost an adult.

Explaining the struggles, Alison confessed: ‘It’s more difficult, he is more verbal now that he is older. He’ll want to know who this person is and he’ll want to meet them.

‘It’s a lot harder. He’ll wanna know that this guy is treating me well.

‘The person who I am seeing at the moment, he is on his Instagram and is like ‘yeah I like him, he’s not too in your face’. Aidan is on it.’

Alison is said to be ‘happier than ever’ with her new partner following a ‘turbulent love life’.

Discussing the first time David and her son met, she revealed: ‘When they actually met, he really liked him, he really thought he was lovely, so that’s nice.

‘Thank goodness for that! Because normally Aidan hates anybody I date, literally just not interested.

‘And you just know at that point, if Aidan doesn’t like them, this isn’t gonna work. There are moments where I think, ‘who’s the parent here?!’

‘It’s nice though because I always feel like there’s someone there looking over me, protecting me.’
