Kourtney Kardashian is standing up for her decision to let her children co-sleep well into their late childhood.

The Poosh founder, 45, insists it feels ‘natural and instinctual’ for her to have her children in the same bed as her during an appearance Sunday on the Skinny Confidential’s Him & Her podcast.

During the chat, Kourtney revealed that she had been allowing her eldest daughter, 12-year-old Penelope, to sleep with her in bed until she was 11.

The reality star shares Penelope and her older sons Mason, 14, and Reign, nine, with her former partner Scott Disick, and she also shares her 10-month-old son Rocky Thirteen with her husband Travis Barker.

Kourtney told hosts Lauryn Evarts Bosstick and Michael Bosstick that she thinks ‘every person’s different and every child is different,’ adding that her oldest son Mason slept with her until the age of seven.

During the chat, Kourtney revealed that she had been allowing her eldest daughter, 12-year-old Penelope, to sleep with her in bed until she was 11

‘I mean, also part of it [was], like, at a certain time I would put him to bed in his room and then he would come in my room,’ she explained.

Eventually, ‘He stopped and he was like, “I’m done with you. I sleep in my own room.”‘

The Kardashians star added: ‘My daughter slept with me pretty much ’til she was 11.’

And just like his half-siblings before him, Kourtney’s son Rocky is now sleeping in his parents’ bed.

‘I’m on the craziest hours right now because of our whole summer of touring, but I think one thing too is that we sleep with our baby,’ Kourtney explained.

‘As a mother, I like to do what feels natural and instinctual to me,’ she added. ‘And that’s for me what it is. Of course, I also read all the benefits and hear all the benefits. And I mean, it’s something that mammals have been doing since time existed.’

Kourtney also noted that her 48-year-old husband Travis, the drummer for pop-punk icons Blink-182, is happy to co-sleep with his son.

‘I will say that both parents being aligned on that is really important,’ she said. ‘My husband loves it too.’

However, she hinted that her mother, Kris Jenner, 68, has a different opinion about their sleeping situation.

But Kourtney said: ‘She doesn’t have to worry about it, because it’s not her baby and she’s done having kids.’

Kourtney and Travis are known for their outlandish public displays of affection, which have courted criticism in the past, and when she was asked how they manage to find time for sex away from their brood, Kourtney said vaguely: ‘We figure it out.

‘You just put locks on the theatre door,’ she joked.
